Atom Reps show well in Paris Tournament
The Fairfield Park Atom rep team travelled to Paris, On this past weekend to participate in the Rob Johnston Memorial tournament

The Atom rep team played their first game on Saturday morning against a well rested Burford team and were defeated 6-1. Wallaceburg's second game was against another local team from St. George and after the disappointment from the morning game the boys played a strong team game and came away with a 4-0 shutout. In the afternoon prior to the second game Wallaceburg won the skating skills competition with the fastest time of the day in all divisions. Participating in the skills challenge for Wallaceburg was Connor Debot, Daniel Fraleigh, Connor Lubbers and Tyler Cadotte. The team had a big task ahead for the 3rd game on Sunday morning needing to defeat the home town Paris team and take 8 points out of 10 to move on to the semi-finals. The kids had it rolling and got out to a quick lead and held on to win the game and collect the 8 points they needed  to advance. In the sem-final game the boys played Pentang in a back and forth penalty filled game and after getting out to a 2-0 lead were able to hang on for a 3-2 victory. On to the finals where Wallaceburg got a chance to avenge their only loss in the Tournament to a strong Burford team. Daniel Fraleigh got things started for Wallaceburg when he sniped a beauty 5 seconds into the first period. Wallaceburg gave up the next few goals and although they kept skating and trying until the last buzzer, Burford once again came away with the victory and the Championship 5-2. This was a great weekend away for the kids and parents to represent Wallaceburg. The boys played their hearts out and after losing the first game, showed what they can do as a team. Special note to Connor Debot who was awarded the Art Ross Trophy for the tournaments leading point getter. Next action for Wallaceburg will be Wednesday night in St. Mary's. GO Lakers!!
