Atom Reps strong at home on Minor Hockey Weekend
The Fairfield Park Atom Reps welcomed the Lambeth Lancers to town for a chance to avenge an early season loss.

Lambeth came out strong in the first period and managed to put the first goal by the Wallaceburg netminder. They scored the second goal just 25 seconds later and had the home team back on their heels. Wallaceburg rallied late in the first period with Lucas Knight banging home his first of the year. Goal was assisted by Connor Lubbers and Kanton Verstraeten. Trailing 2-1 to start the second, Wallaceburg got going and dominated play only to be denied by the Lambeth goalie. Lambeth scored twice in the second and after falling down 4-1, Daniel Fraleigh scored on a nice pass from Ashton Shipman to end the second down 4-2. Wallaceburg came out hot again in the third and great defensive team play kept Lambeth off the scoreboard. Taking advantage of a great play by Connor Lubbers and Daniel Fraleigh, Connor Debot was able to score at the 1:57 mark to close the gap to 4-3. With Lambeth in the box late in the game and the Wallaceburg goalie pulled, Brett Wadsworth took a pass from Connor Lubbers and scored his first of the season on a shot from the point at the 0:27 mark. Also assisting on the goal was Connor Debot. Wallaceburg kept the pressure on for the rest of the game and came very close to the win. Overall it was a great team effort for the 4-4 tie. Hard Hat award went to Lucas Knight. Way to go Boys!!! Next action is Friday night in Strathroy.
