GAME #14 VS. MOORETOWN RED
Wallaceburg Subway Peewee team still undefeated, but only by the skin of their teeth!

Friday night marked the 14th game of the regular season for the Peewee Tri-county #1 team and it proved to be a big one; a rematch against the 2nd place Mooretown Red.  Both teams matched up well in their first meeting and tonight was no different.

In the opening minutes of the 1st period the teams battled hard, then three minutes in Wallaceburg went up 1-0 on a goal by Zander Cogghe.  Shortly after Mooretown came right back with one of their own and kept coming, adding 2 more before the end of the period going up 3-1.

After this quick start for Mooretown, Wallaceburg started to get down on themselves; getting out of position and not matching the aggressiveness of Mooretown.  During the intermission the coaching staff took the time to calm down the team and emphasized the importance of getting back to their game.  Mooretown struck fast scoring their fourth goal just seconds into the 2nd period.  Although they started to look a little defeated Wallaceburg managed to chip away at the 3 goal lead.  With about ten minutes to go Adam Atkins scored to make it 4-2, from there they kept battling and by the end of the 2nd they were able to tie it up 4-4 on goals by Ty Myers and another by Adam Atkins.

In the 3rd period we saw these two top teams battle it out once again.  Mooretown got the edge in chances outshooting Wallaceburg 10-6 but with both goalies being perfect in the 3rd the game ended in a 4-4 tie.

So although it was a shaky start for Wallaceburg they clawed their way back into the game with great team resiliency to stay undefeated in league play.  "Player of the Game" Chain went to Ethan Burfield for his great defensive awareness and quick recovery plays.  Assisting on Zander Cogghe's goal were Ewan MacDonald and Josh Snelgrove.  Great comeback by all!
