GAME #12 VS. W'BURG LAKERS #2
What other way to celebrate Wallaceburg's Minor Hockey Weekend than with a match up between the Wallaceburg Peewee #1 & #2 teams.
For team #1 sponsored by Subway it was another sluggish start, for some reason they take a good period before they get their legs and game under them. Both teams managed equal shots but halfway through the 1st period it took a lucky deflection off the team #2 goalie to get things going, when Aiden Latimer tried to pass it out front of the net and it bounced in.
Both teams continued to trade chances and shots once again were close but team #1 were able to capitalize again with a deflection off a pass from the corner which was meant for the front of the net. By the time the 3rd period rolled around team #1 had their legs and were passing the puck much better. They continued to create chances and eventually were rewarded on a couple of those with some hard work and beautiful passing.
Team #1's net minder, Aiden "Macky" MacDonald managed his first shutout of the year (which was a long time coming). Once again he was solid in net, like he has been all year. He shares this shutout and 4-0 win with his teammates especially his 3 defensemen who played extra hard today. Today's "player of the game" chain went to Adam Atkins for his aggressive and smart offensive game.
Solid win by everyone as they continue to protect their undefeated streak!
