Game 16 vs Mooretown Flags
With only three regular season games remaining and after an extended break from league play the Aarkel Bantam Lakers hit the ice Sunday night to host the Mooretown Flags.  This was poised to be a statement game versus a surging Flags team who are on an 8 game winning streak.

It didn't take long to get things going as the Lakers got on the board 30 seconds into the game on a goal by Jackson Oliver (unassisted).  After that both teams settled in and the score stayed 1-0 after the 1st period of play.

In the 2nd period Wallaceburg managed to continue a well structured game and was able to dictate most of the play adding 3 more goals.  The first coming from Zander Cogghe which was set up nicely by a nice saucer pass out front from Quinlan Fields, drawing the other assist was Kyle Morrison.  Once again Jackson Oliver got in on the action scoring the 3rd goal for Wallaceburg (unassisted) and helping out with the 4th which was scored by Josh Snelgrove.

Wallaceburg took a 4-0 lead into the third period and although Mooretown had their chances Wallaceburg's goalie Macky stood tall to keep everything out and the Laker's cruised to a well deserved 5-0 victory.  The 5th goal once again from Jackson Oliver, giving him the hat-trick.

After the game the coach's spoke about how discipline the team was even when the Flags tried to get under their skin, they managed to stick to the plan and earn the victory.  The coach's named the whole team as 2nd & 3rd star with the 1st star going to Zander Cogghe for his aggressive but discipline play!

Next week the team looks to finish the regular season with more success as they play a back to back vs. Southkent in Blenheim Saturday and back home Sunday vs. Dresden.  Well done boys!
