AARKEL BANTAM TC1 - REGULAR SEASON CHAMPS
Congratulations to the Aarkel Bantam TC1 team for finishing first and earning the title of "Regular Season Champs" with a record of 17-1-0.

From the beginning of the year the team showed great promise with an all around team effort and win in their first game by a score of 11-1.  Although their second game came in the form of a loss the team didn't let it get them down.  Instead they dug in, practiced hard and learned the benefit of a team game and rattled off win after win until they finish the season with a 16 game winning streak and title of Reg. Season Champs!

In between the league games they earned much success in tournament play.  First they captured the Championship banner at the Mooretown Jr. Flags House League tournament with an impressive 5 wins (3 being shutouts), 1 tie and all while holding 6 different teams to only 4 goals.   In January the followed that up with a 2nd place finish and Silver Medal at the ever popular Walter Gretzky House League Tournament.  Once again being stingy on goals against the team only allow only 5 in their 5 wins (2 by way of shutout).  In the finals they lost 7-2 to a tough Barrie Colts team whom before the Championship game didn't allow a single goal to be scored on them.

Throughout the season the team has celebrated many accomplishments, some as individuals but more importantly they celebrate the growth of a team and the success that comes with it.  Sure some of that success can be measured and justified by stats such as:

A 30 Game record of: 27W - 2L - 1T
16 Game Winning Streak
10 Shutouts
123 Goals For (GFA 4.1)
37 Goals Against (GAA 1.23)
GF% 0.769

But at the end of the day the true success this team has earned can't be seen on a score sheet or justified by any stat.  Although they've enjoyed this well deserved success they know they aren't done yet. The team looks forward to the upcoming Frank Dymock Tournament where they hope to represent the memory of Frank and Wallaceburg well.  They also will begin to prepare for a tough playoff against 2 strong opponents in the Wallaceburg TC2 and Mooretown Flags and hope they can continue their success.  The coaching staff extends a huge thank-you to all the friends and family - knowing their success is also a product of their support.

Congrats boys - GO LAKERS!!
