Oct 15th - Vs. Mooretown Orange
After a tough first game the Aarkel Bantam Tri County team was back at it on Saturday afternoon traveling to Mooretown to face the Orange team.
Wallaceburg focused on correcting some of their mistakes from the previous game and came out skating. They dominated the play and puck possession for most of the 1st period and managed to outshoot Mooretown.
At the start of the 2nd Mooretown managed to take advantage of a couple of quick goals, one which handcuffed the Laker goalie and it eventually crossed the line after it bounced off his glove a couple of times. After the goals both teams traded chances for most of the 2nd but to no avail.
During the intermission the team discussed getting back on track in the 3rd and tightening up a few areas. Things started ok until Mooretown scored another taking the sails out of some of the players and caused them to loosen up just a little too much. Although the team pressed on and continued to get some chances they couldn't solve the Mooretown goalie; the final score was 4-0.
Once again the coaches seen a lot of good things to out of the game. Ethan McLachlin was recognized as the team's "Work Horse" player of the game, Ethan started at defense and during the game moved to forward due to an injury. He played a solid game at both positions and was a true asset and team player. Other players with honourable mentions were Matt Marlatt and Jake Richmond.
