I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season. Unfortunately due to a busy schedule I haven't been able to keep up on game updates.
So here is a short summary of our season from Nov. 5th until now.....
After starting the season with a frustrating 0-5-1 record, the team looked to get in the win column in a home & home series versus Dresden. They did just that with two solid wins which contributed to their 7-5 record over the last 12 games. During that stretch they had a balanced GF% of .500 with 38 GF & 38 GA.
Over this time the team took a break from regular season play and participated in the Mooretown Jr. Flags tournament. Wallaceburg faced some good teams (Sarnia, Richmond Hill, Point Edward & Petrolia) and unfortunately suffered a 0-3-1 record with a GF% of .276 (8 GF / 21 GA). Although the team struggled to score they work hard and use the tournament as some good bonding time as well as a good learning experience against some different teams.
Since the tournament the team has enjoyed a 4-2 record out of their last 12, most recently a big win over Dresden which ended in a 7-1 finish. The team now looks to build off the win and make a push for the "A" bracket as the season winds down with only 3 regular season games remaining.
First they will enjoy some team building as they head to London next weekend for the Neil Barker tournament. Stay tuned to the website for scores and updates on how we do.
