Update - Game 4/5/6 Summaries
Over their last 3 games the Aarkel Bantam Lakers went 0-2-1.  Although they managed their first point of the season in a tie against a strong Mooretown Orange team they still have a ways to go.

Game #4 - Oct 22nd vs. Mooretown Orange

In their first game against Mooretown Orange the Lakers had a great start and were looking to do the same but unfortunately they did the opposite.  In the 1st period Mooretown managed to outshoot Wallaceburg 7-3 and took the lead early.  The Lakers came right back less than a minute later off a goal by Quinlan Fields assisted by Caiden Leach but by the end of the period the Flags added another.  In the 2nd period although they didn't work out all the kinks Wallaceburg looked a little better but was still outshot 6-3 and surrendered another goal to make it 3-1 going into the 3rd.  At the start of the period Wallaceburg got some life when the puck was blasted from the point and by the goalie on a shot by Caleb Tulloch.  With legs under them the Lakers managed to battle hard outshooting the Flags 10-4 in the 3rd and at the halfway point added the tying goal by Callahan Franquist assisted by Kamron Latimer.  The game ended in a 3-3 draw but was a huge comeback victory for the Wallaceburg team and the great on ice effort of Caiden Leach earned him the "Work horse" player of the game award.

Game #5 - Oct 23rd vs. Mooretown Black

After a big comeback the previous game, the Aarkel Bantam Lakers were looking to build off some momentum against another strong Mooretown team.  Unfortunately the Mooretown Black team had a lot of speed that took Wallaceburg by surprise early on and couldn't recover.  The Flags went up two goals by the midway point of the 1st and although the Lakers managed one of their own by Kamron Latimer (assisted by Ethan Burfield & Jake Richmond) the Flags scored another late to make it 3-1.  In the 2nd it was all Mooretown adding 4 more goals, making it a 7-1 game and outshooting Wallaceburg 23-14 after two periods.  The start of the 3rd wasn't much better when Mooretown scored early making it 8-1.  The Lakers got a little life back on a nice goal out front by Zander Cogghe which came as a result of a great pass by Ethan McLachlin.  Zander's battles in front of the net and no quit effort all game earned him the "Work Horse" player of the game award.

Game #6 - Oct 30th vs. Southwest Bullets

After a tough start to the season and facing some strong teams (who all sit atop of the standings), the Aarkel Bantam Lakers went into the Oct 30th game with hopes of turning things around.  The Southwest team on paper looked like a team that would match up well against Wallaceburg and after the 1st period this looked to be the case.  Both teams tied in shots against 6-6 but Southwest managed to come out on top 1-0.  In the 2nd period Wallaceburg created some more chances including some odd-man rushes but they either were stopped by a great save or shot at the goalie.  Although the Lakers outshot them 13-8 it was the Bullets who once again scored halfway through making it 2-0 after two.  In the 3rd period Southwest kept coming and outshot Wallaceburg 11-8 and scored another 3 goals to make it 5-0.  With less than a minute to go Wallaceburg finally got on the board with a textbook 2 on 1 which ended in a goal by Callihan Franquist on a beautiful pass by Kamron Latimer. Ten seconds later Callihan scored another with the puck deflecting over the goalie (assisted by Jake Richmond).  Although it was nice to score a couple it was a too little too late effort by Wallaceburg.  For his aggressive play and hustle, Quinlan Fields earned the "Work horse" player of the game award.
