U9 Tryout Update #2
Hello Families,

Again I would like to thank all the skaters for another good skate. You are making our final selection very difficult. That being said I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone trying out that hockey is not a game where you can rely on skill and talent alone. You need to have a good work ethic, discipline, show a willingness to listen and a want to improve!

I would like to ask all skaters from Tuesdays skate to come to Saturdays skate for a last chance to display these characteristics. I will be reaching out and offering roster spots to skaters after Saturdays skate VIA email. Please be patient as this is a new system and we are still learning exactly how it works. My goal is to leave room on the roster to accommodate kids growth and development over the summer and reassess them in the fall.

I am a big believer in development especially at such a young age when kids are growing and developing at vastly different rates. I believe a big part of that is a strong AP program and I intend to implement this to help keep a consistency throughout this age group as well as continue to offer opportunities to the individuals that deserve them.

I also know that this is Easter weekend and if families have any schedule conflicts or issues please reach out to me at [email protected]

Thank you to everyone for there commitment so far, I know this has been a busy week for may kids and families. See you Saturday!

Timbits Minor Sports Program The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games. Timbits players are also given the opportunity to play in their own "Timbits Jamboree", a fun-filled Tim Hortons sponsored event where everyone receives a prize, food and beverages.
