What a Season for Lakers Girls Hockey!
We’re wrapping up an incredible year for the Wallaceburg Lakers Girls Hockey Program, and we couldn’t be prouder of our girls! From tournament wins to strong showings across the board, our teams have shown skill, grit, and teamwork every time they hit the ice. Our current teams are competitive, committed, and continuing to grow — and we’re just getting started!
📣 2025/2026 Girls Hockey Coaching Announcement!
Wallaceburg Minor Hockey Association is excited to announce the coaching staff for our Girls Lakers teams for the upcoming season! These dedicated individuals bring passion, leadership, and a commitment to developing our athletes both on and off the ice.
U13 Team 1 – Scott Currah
U15 A/B – BJ Charpentier
U18 Team 1 – Tracy Barclay
We’re looking forward to a great year ahead with this strong group of leaders behind the bench.
🚨 We're also looking to build U9 and U11 Girls Teams!
There will be a combined skate on April 26th at 2:00 PM at the Dresden Arena to gauge interest in these age groups. Join the Girls Lakers and discover the power of teamwork, confidence, and fierce determination!

✅ Season Prep Skates – Optional prep skates will be offered prior to tryouts. These are not evaluative skates and are to give players an opportunity to get comfortable on the ice before tryouts. These sessions are a great opportunity to boost confidence, get extra touches on the puck, and gear up for a strong tryout showing!
Prep Skates will take place on: Thursday, April 10 (U9, U11, U13)
Tuesday, April 15 (U11, U15)
Thursday, April 17 (U13, U15)
THESE SKATES ARE ONLY OPEN TO PLAYERS WHO PLAYED FOR A WMHA TEAM IN THE PREVIOUS 2024/2025 SEASON!

We’re looking for passionate, hard-working players to join our growing Girls Program. Whether you're a returning player or new to the Lakers family, this is your chance to be part of something special.
📋 All players MUST pre-register on RAMP before attending tryouts. Please click here to register.
All players intending to tryout for a Wallaceburg Minor Hockey team must pre-register for tryouts. The cost to tryout is $40 for all players. This payment is to be sent by e-transfer to the Treasurer Chris Van Mensel at [email protected] prior to the first tryout.
📅 The first round of tryouts kicks off Saturday, April 26 at the Ken Houston Memorial Agricultural Centre in Dresden.
🕛 U15 – 12:00 PM
🕐 U13 – 1:00 PM
🕛 U18 – Tuesday, April 29 at 9:00 PM.

Arrive Early: Please be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled ice time for check-in.

Full Equipment: Players must be in full gear, including a mouth guard, before stepping onto the ice.
