Wallaceburg Minor Hockey Association Awards Criteria

Hockey Mom of the Year - Present

This award is presented to an extraordinary parent whose dedication, support, and passion embody the true spirit of the hockey community. The Hockey Mom of the Year goes above and beyond, from early morning practices to late-night games, always cheering from the stands and lending a helping hand. She is a driving force on and off the ice, fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and a love for the game. Her unwavering commitment and tireless efforts make a lasting impact on players, families, and the entire team.

Hockey Mom of the Year (Legacy Award)

This award is presented to an extraordinary hockey mom whose passion, dedication, and unwavering support continue to shine, even without a child currently in the game. Her love for the sport and commitment to the hockey community transcend personal involvement, as she tirelessly volunteers, supports players, and fosters a welcoming and positive environment. She is a role model, mentor, and cheerleader to all, demonstrating that the spirit of a hockey mom goes far beyond the rink.

Coach of the Year

This award is presented to an exceptional coach whose leadership, vision, and dedication have profoundly impacted their team. The Coach of the Year has demonstrated outstanding coaching skills, guiding athletes to achieve their full potential while fostering a culture of teamwork, res

pect, and sportsmanship. Through strategic thinking, inspiration, and unwavering support, this coach led their team to success and helped shape confident and resilient individuals.

Josh Falconer Memorial Award - U13 Defenseman Award for Hard Work and Perseverance

This award is presented to a dedicated U13 defenseman who exemplifies the values of hard work, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. This player consistently strives to improve his skills while lifting his teammates, demonstrating leadership on and off the ice. His tireless work ethic, resilience in the face of challenges, and selfless attitude contribute to his team’s success and inspire those around him. Congratulations to this exceptional young athlete for embodying the true spirit of the game and showing that dedication and determination lead to greatness!

Marian Coveny Award 

This award is presented to an OWHA player who exemplifies the core values that Marian Coveny embodied throughout her career: pride, passion, and respect. This player demonstrates unwavering pride in themselves, their team, and the sport, always striving to elevate the game with dedication and commitment. They play with a deep passion for the game, showing heart in every practice and every match. Above all, they carry themselves with respect—for their teammates, opponents, coaches, and the hockey community. Frank Dymock Award

This award is presented to a current player or student in the community who demonstrates a deep passion for hockey and selflessly volunteers their time to support Wallaceburg Minor Hockey. This individual consistently displays a positive attitude, embodies the values of teamwork, and goes above and beyond to contribute to the success and spirit of the organization. Through their dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to others, they inspire and uplift their teammates and the entire community.

Timbits Minor Sports Program The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid.
