Honouring National Truth and Reconciliation on September 30
SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY- Truth and Reconciliation September 30.

PLEASE JOIN US THIS WEEKEND AS WE OBSERVE AND HONOUR NATIONAL TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION DAY. WEAR YOUR ORANGE. MANY OF OUR TEAMS WILL BE WEARING THEIR ORANGE JERSEYS AND ALL OF OUR PLAYERS WILL BE GIVEN ORANGE TAPE FOR THEIR STICKS. WE AIM TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF THE IMPACT OF THE RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL SYSTEM ON INDIGENOUS FAMILIES AND CONTINUE TO SEEK RECONCILIATION.

Walpole Island First Nation is apart of our Lakers family. Many of our Lakers have direct ties to WIFN.

Our teams will be wearing the orange jerseys periodically throughout the season both at home and on the road. We aim to spread awareness not only in our own community, but the communities we visit. It’s about more than just one day. Hockey is about more than just what we do on the ice. #reconciliACTION

The Black Goose operation in 2019 will mark the 50th year of continued service to the town of Wallaceburg by the Childs family, reaching a third generation with hope that we will see the forth generation participate in the operation of the Black Goose Grill. We are located at 525 James Street, on the bank of the Sydenham River, which makes us accesible for boaters and snowmobilers.
