WMHA Update Jan 14 - Hope Lives in Lakers Nation
Hello Hockey Family,

With the declaration of a second provincial emergency our return to hockey is unclear at this time however we wanted to provide you with an update from our Board Meeting of January 14, 2021. First off – THANK YOU! for the patience and the cooperation in making the opening of our 2020-2021 season a resounding success.

Your support in following protocols allowed us to play and practice according to our schedule.  Our players experienced a chance of a lifetime to skate alongside local stars Kaetlyn Isaac & Seth Griffith.  We welcomed many new young players to hockey, we continued our girls program and thanks to Aarkel we provided our players with a shot at hoisting the Cup!

Moving forward and to make the best decisions for our association, we are regularly engaging with The Ontario Hockey Federation, Ontario Minor Hockey Association and the Municipality of Chatham Kent.  At our board meeting January 14, 2021 we voted unanimously to continue our season at the earliest approved opportunity.  We want to be on the ice again this season!

Understanding that we’ve not been on the ice since December and our earliest potential return is mid-February we are also exploring partial refunds for each registered player.  We will provide more information on this once we determine next steps for our 2020-2021 season.

Our WMHA Board is working hard to have current information to best plan the remainder of the season.  We thank you for your patience and understanding.
