2019-2020 Registration Information
Registration dates for 2019-2020 Season will be announced soon.

After thoughtful deliberation the WMHA has set our final fees for 2019-2020 registrations. This was done with careful consideration of many aspects in which we operate, in consideration of other local association practices, and in consideration of what we choose to be as an association. We’ve made these changes to best suit the broad needs of all players and families within the association.

 WMHA fees will see an increase of $50.00 for the 2019-2020 season
 The annual raffle will be maintained for those that wish to participate
 We will now incorporate a $200.00 refundable volunteer fee for each family

This $50.00 increase is being made to offset the rising operating costs and represents the first increase in fees since 2014.

Families can still choose to offset the cost of registration by $100 by selling raffle tickets.

Recognizing that we are a volunteer association we are also introducing a refundable volunteer fee where families can recoup a fee by volunteering their time throughout the season. This fee will help off-set costs and assist with our operations.

More on the volunteer fee

How much is it?
For the 2019-2020 season the refundable fee is $200.00

How do I earn the refund? The fee is earned back with 8 hours of volunteering with prescribed WMHA activities

What are the prescribed activities? The prescribed activities include but are not limited to…Bench staff, assisting with registration, volunteering at a tournament, collecting gate, scorekeeping, volunteering at a fundraiser.

Why will we have a volunteer fee? In part this will off-set our costs and relieve burden on families that consistently volunteer for WMHA activities. We also see this as a chance to open up opportunities for all our families to participate in WMHA activities.

Additional FAQ

Why are fees increasing?
Fees are increasing to offset the rising costs of operation – most notably the rising costs of ice time and referees

Is the sock fee mandatory? We recognize that returning players may still have socks in good shape and so we are not mandating a fee for new socks. It’s our expectation that players wear the current WMHA socks and these socks are in good condition.

Why is there a charge for Midget jerseys? All midget players will be charged a refundable $250 of their jerseys in order to prevent loss. Unfortunately, we’ve seen a significant loss in midget jerseys impacting the WMHA

Our goal is to be a sustainable organization that creates an environment for our players and families to grow on and off the ice. We feel this balanced approach to registrations will help us improve on our level of service to our players, coaches, families, and our community.

Timbits Minor Sports Program The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games. Timbits players are also given the opportunity to play in their own "Timbits Jamboree", a fun-filled Tim Hortons sponsored event where everyone receives a prize, food and beverages.
