Severe weather
Please see below regarding practices and games during extreme weather conditions.
With the extreme weather upon us, a few people are wondering about whether practices will be cancelled by Minor Hockey. As long as the arena is open we will not cancel practice times. As long as there is a coach on the ice to supervise the practice is still a go with 1 player or 20 players on the ice.
Realizing that each person has a different risk tolerance I would ask that you consider if you feel safe driving , if you do not that is understandable. Minor Hockey would not ask anyone to take an unnecessary risk.
However as a courtesy and respect for the team please do contact a coach or manager so that they know your child will not be there.
GAMES - The OMHA policy on game cancellations is quite clear; if the roads are closed or the arena is closed then the game can be cancelled without cost to either centre. If this is not the case each team is expected to take weather and road conditions into consideration and leave yourself enough time to travel to the game safely.
