Reminders for Coaches, Staff
A few reminders to coaches and team staff from Chris Young....

Coaches there are a few important safety issues I would like to remind you of: *(Please share with your teams and your coaching staffs)*

All players must wear all equipment on the ice for practice (even if injured and you must have a doctors note to allowing the injured player to skate no note no ice) practice equipment includes Mouth guards in the mouth, Chin Straps fastened on both sides of the helmet and under the chin, and Neck protectors on , if you have to wear it in a game you need to wear it in practice it is that simple. The board members cannot monitor every practice but if we do see an offender ( and it has happened) please expect someone to say something to you. SAFETY First.

On Ice helpers - if they are under 16 they must wear full equipment - this is an OMHA rule (not Chris Young's)  - no equipment = no insurance = no > going on the ice, if I catch you or a board member catches you there will
be a formal discussion.  Please limit on ice non coach helpers - I have been told that at a few practices there have been as many helpers on the ice as players. maximum of two is a good rule of thumb. All coaches must be a minimum of two years older than the oldest child on the team

All coaches must wear helmets and have chin straps which are attached firmly on both sides of the helmet and the strap must go under your chin.

Under no circumstances are Game jerseys to be worn during practice - no debate, if they don't have a practice jersey go out without one or request they stay off the ice.

If you are already following these guidelines thank you very much keep up the good work, if you were unclear on some of the items hopefully this clarifies it. At the end of the day we want everyone to be safe, and go home in the same manner the came to the arena in.

Thanks if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Have fun and keep it safe.

Chris
