Remembering Frank Dymock
Thank you for joining us for the Frank Dymock Classic. This event has not been possible to hold for the past 2 years because of COVID-19 restrictions so we are thrilled to be holding the tournament in Frank's name again.

Before losing Frank in 2013, he loved attending the Frank Dymock Classic and was the proudest fan in the stands. All proceeds of the event go back into supporting Wallaceburg Minor Hockey.

For over 50 years, if you laced up a pair of skates or have been in the arena, you know Frank Dymock. He was known for never accepting payment for skate sharpening and ensuring any child who wanted to skate had skates to wear.  He was a huge supporter of Minor Hockey and warmed the hearts of the community with his warm smile and his wood stove. He is described by his family as “their hero”. For his selfless acts of generosity towards everyone, Wallaceburg recognized Frank by naming a bridge close to his home after him.  In 2009 he was named a life member of the Wallaceburg Minor Hockey Association and in 2012 was Wallaceburg's citizen of the year.

Since 2008, Wallaceburg Minor Hockey has honoured Frank’s commitment and passion for the game by hosting the Frank Dymock Classic. He proudly attended the event each year until passing at the age of 82. We keep his memory alive by continuing to celebrate this event and inviting young hockey players into the Wallaceburg Arena to play a game Frank loved so much.

Good luck to the participating teams and we wish everyone a successful weekend of hockey. Frank would have loved seeing these young athletes and dedicated coaches taking the ice. We are thankful for you being here and keeping Frank's memory alive.
