REGULAR SEASON COMES TO AN END
On Saturday the Atom AE team travelled to Mount Brydges for their final Regular Season game in search of a win to add to their recent collection.  They started the exciting day by travelling together in the Laker bus (Thank-you to bus driver Bill for getting us there safely!), once there they lined the hallway to cheer on the Novice Rep team as they entered the rink for a game just before.

The last time these two teams played Mount Brydges got the best of Wallaceburg with a 3-0 score but when this game started all that was forgotten and memories of their recent wins were fresh in their minds.  Wallaceburg came out aggressively and dominated early, half way through the 1st period they were rewarded with a goal by Caiden Leach with some great play around the net.  Once the 2nd period started Mount Brydges settled in and the teams battled hard back and forth and eventually Mount Brydges evened up the score.  The momentum for Mount Brydges was carried into the 3rd period giving them a controversial 2 goal lead that came a minute apart.  Although discouraged Wallaceburg didn't give up and battled back showing the reason for their recent success.  With under two minutes to go Brayden Kraayenbrink scored on a great setup from Caiden Leach and Aiden Latimer.  Down by 1 Wallaceburg looked to pull the goalie but were hemmed in their own end, eventually with 48 seconds remaining they escaped their end and added the extra attacker. With 18 seconds to go a battle along the boards paid off with a pass from Aiden Latimer to a wide open Brayden Kraayenbrink in the slot where he finished it off with a nice goal to tie the game!  Congratulations to the Atom AE team on a amazing finish to their Regular Season.

Players of the Game:
1) Brayden Krayenbrink (golden helmet award) - 2 goals
2) Ryan Burritt (solid defensive play at both ends of the ice)
3) Aiden Mac Donald (great goaltending to keep us in the game)

The team looks forward to continued success in a Home and Home Round Robin series against Dorchestor, Mooretown and Lambeth.  Check out the playoffs page to see their schedule and cheer them on.
