WMHA Season Update - Next Steps
Lakers and Families

The WMHA Board continues plan for a full hockey season that will get our players back on the ice and return to playing the game we all love.

As previously announced the OMHA and the OWHA have made the decision to require all participants born in 2009 or later that include; Players, Volunteers, and Coaches to be fully vaccinated by Oct 31 (OMHA) and Oct 17 (OWHA).
Spectators have Not been mandated to be fully vaccinated at this time

We currently have no indication that the season will be cut short and are confident that we will have opportunities to once again compete for championship banners and develop our players for the future.

We continue to be optimistic that we will continue a meaningful and traditional hockey season.

The Wallaceburg Minor Hockey Association understand this vaccine directive by the OMHA, OWHA and by the Ontario Government may not align with all Participant's plans, and we respect your choice. We want to give you an opportunity to consider your decision carefully.
As we continue to plan, and schedule Ice we will begin to incur costs.

WMHA will need to know if you are withdrawing your Registration for the 2021-2022 Season by Sept 13, so we can have time to advertise roster spot openings, and adjust scheduling plans for the season.
Members withdrawing by Sept 13 will qualify for a FULL Refund.  As demonstrated in the past by WMHA, if the hockey landscape changes we will make all efforts to continue to provide hockey for our Lakers and will address pro-rates financial refunds if needed.

To indicate that you are withdrawing from the 2021-2022 Season by Sept 13 and Receive a full refund please email:

For those that will continue to enjoy hockey this season WMHA has set up a system to track vaccination status, we’ve established a confidential mailing system independent of the WMHA Board. This mailing system will be used to gather proof of vaccination from all impacted players, coaches, staff and volunteers. This is also the confidential system to be used in tracking any players seeking an exemption.  Please know that Exemptions are at the sole discretion of the OMHA / OWHA and are not managed or approved by the WMHA.
This Plan is in Accordance and will Follow Section 8 of the OMHA Vaccination Policy.

Please send Copy of 2nd Vaccination Receipt or Exemption request to:

Tim Horton's
Timbits Minor Sports Program The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games. Timbits players are also given the opportunity to play in their own "Timbits Jamboree", a fun-filled Tim Hortons sponsored event where everyone receives a prize, food and beverages.
Dodge Caravan Kids
The Dodge Caravan Kids program is a joint effort between participating minor hockey associations and Chrysler, Dodge, FiatĀ®, JeepĀ® and Ram retailers. It provides up to $500 in funding and access to exclusive hockey benefits to novice-level hockey teams across Canada. The goal of Dodge Caravan Kids is to help enrich the game of hockey for participating coaches, players and their families, and represents one of FCA Canada's key community efforts.
